                                                                                   HELPING THE WORLD TO SEE

Picture
Let There Be Sight is working to provide the gift of sight to the poor and underpriviliged of the world.  In conjunction with Donor Network of Arizona, we provide corneal transplants to cure blindness for a myriad of eye diseases.  For only $550.00 US Dollars, a child, student, father or mother will receive the miraculous gift of a corneal transplant.   This sight restorative procedure will save someone from blindness.  They can finish school, see the smile on their child's face, or keep a job that allows them to feed their family.  Working with Doctors from around the world who have agreed to provide their surgical services gratis, 100% of your donation will go to restoring sight.

Giving the gift of sight to another human being is the ultimate expression of love, compassion and generosity.  Individuals, families and organizations can donate in honor of someone or as a gift to someone they love.  The fortunate person who receives your sight giving gift will be told of your generosity, unless you choose to remain annonymous.  Can you imagine the impact your charitable donation will have on the person you saved from blindness?  Is there
a greater gift one could give?  Through the incredibly generous donations of Let There Be Sight supporters, the poorest of the poor can see again. Help today and Let There Be Sight!

Kevin Murphy, Receives Gift of Sight Award
My name is Kevin Murphy and I'm the founder of Let There Be Sight.  I formed this non profit corporation to help the poor and underpriviliged obtain free cornea transplants to save them from blindness.  When I was 13 years old my parents helped a young man, who was going blind, get a cornea transplant.  My parents paid the money to have the corneas shipped and the cost of the surgery.  Through my parents efforts and generosity, they had given the gift of sight.  I was so moved by what my parents had done.  I was also deeply touched at how the skill of a doctor had made this miracle possible.  I knew doctors were important, but now I was 13 and I could clearly see the impact they made in people's lives.  I knew then I wanted to become a doctor so that I could help others.  I am now applying to medical schools and I hope to obtain admittance soon.  One day I plan to provide my services as a doctor to those in need.

On June 23, 2011 the Eye Bank Association of America awarded my non profit - Let There Be Sight - my parents and myself their coveted Gift of Sight Award.  This award was presented at their annual convention in Tucson, Arizona.  My parents were honored for the work they had done in 2000 - 2003 to provide corena transplants to the needy, such as was mentioned above.  I was included for the work that I've been doing in the past few years with my non profit.  Collectively, I am very proud to say the Murphy family was honored for over a decade of service to the blind.  You can read more about this prestigious award at:  http://restoresight.org.s123902.gridserver.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/2011-Gift-of-Sight-Press-Release.pdf

In the meantime there are thousands of underpriviliged people who are going blind every year.  This can be stopped, if we work together.  Through money I'd saved while working and going to school, I was able to come up with the funds needed to provide my first corneal transplant.  I met with The Donor Network of Arizona and they agreed to provided the corneal tissue free of charge and together we worked to arrange my first surgery.  Through those efforts a man who had gone blind could now see!  I worked hard for that money, but I could think of no greater way to spend it.  I know you work hard for your money.  Let There Be Sight now works closely with the Donor Network of Arizona.  They so generously will provide the corneas needed for transplant at no cost.  In addition, we have developed relationships with doctors who will perform the corneal transplant surgery for free.  These incredible doctors donate their time and talents to support the mission of Let There Be Sight.  Through this cooperative effort we can save someone from blindness. For only $550.00 Let There Be Sight pays for the shipping and necessary surgical supplies for the operation. Is there a greater gift one could give?  Thank you for joining me in saving people from blindness.  Please click on the DONATE & GIVE THE GIFT OF SIGHT link above.
